Albion Park RSL Sub Branch and Memorial Club were proud to welcome the 100th Anniversary of the Waratah March on the 1st of December 2015. The Waratah March was held to commemorate 100 years since the original recruitment march was undertaken. It was a recruitment march that began in Nowra, where a band of local volunteers were gathered up by Military personnel to begin the long march to Sydney to join the Defence Force to fight in WWI. The procession steadily grew in size as they stopped at local communities on their journey.
The images below show the March that was held through Albion Park and the following service at the Memorial Club on the 1st of December 2015.
